Innovative Research Universities: Top 100 under 50 years old

The dynamism and excellence of Australia’s young universities has been lauded by the Times Higher Education (THE) 150 Under 50 Rankings for 2016. All six Innovative Research Universities have placed in the top 100.

“The 150 Under 50 ranking is led by young, exciting and dynamic institutions.” Phil Baty, THE editor says, who goes on to say that one of Australia’s strengths is the strong community of young institutions, with universities founded in the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and 1990s.”

IRU Executive Director Conor King says, “Education is about the future not about legacies of the past. The IRU commitment to inclusive excellence is key to our commitment to reach and serve local and global communities with the highest standards in teaching, learning and research. The rankings show the ascent of young, effective and innovative universities to take on the challenges of higher education and research.”
